1) The Dinner Detective
Ok, ok we are biased, but hear us out! (or, check out some reviews!) The Dinner Detective offers an experience unlike any other when it comes to murder mystery shows. No hokey costumes, no pressure on the audience to play a pre-written characters, and our actors are hidden in the audience so the killer could be sitting right next to you…. Fans of improv and true crime will love this interactive comedy show as they compete to win the title (and prize bag) for top sleuth. The Dinner Detective holds public shows on weekends year-round, and offers private shows for groups of 30+. This is THE place to go in town to get a mystery, prizes, drinks, comedy, AND a four-course meal all in one!
2) Improv Cincinnati
Improv Cincinnati is a comedy club that offers shows (and classes) at Clifton Comedy Theatre. Improv Cincinnati produces a variety of shows from improv comedy, to stand-up, to scripted sketch shows. This is a great place to experience comedy in its variety of forms as an audience member or even a performer yourself. Performances every Friday and Saturday.
3) Bombs Away! Comedy
Bombs Away! Comedy is a great place to see Cincy’s up and coming comedians at a variety of venues. This is a pop-up show, so they oporate out of several local bars and breweries to host shows. Shows occur on most Saturdays.
4) Go Bananas Comedy Club
Go Bananas Comedy Club focuses mostly on stand-up comedy, but will host the occasionally film festival. Go Bananas boasts a list of well known comedians they’ve hosted and claims to also be the spot to find all of Cincinnati’s best rising stars. They are known for their Funniest Person in Cincinnati Contest, with both an ametuer and semi-professional division.
5) Funny Bone
Located just outside Cincinnati proper in Liberty, Funny Bone is a Comedy Club restaurant that is never short on talent. While its line-up mostly consists of well known touring comedians, they host some local events such as the ‘Clash of the Comics!’ Funny Bone is a national chain, so expect touring comedians more than local talent.
