From September 1 through October 31, you can bring your family to this real working farm where you can pick your own fruit right from the tree. The annual harvest will feature lots of fun treats as well, including fresh pies, apples, berries, flowers and more. In fact, there are an impressive 28 different stands to check out throughout the harvest, and the availability of each fruit depends on the season. Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel
Make the drive to Mt. Angel to check out the 53rd annual Oktoberfest celebration. This great tradition of German beer, food and music runs September 13 through 16 and there is a variety of different events to enjoy while you’re there. Learn all about German dancing in the nightly Street Dance – Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm. Or visit one of the four different beer gardens offering more than 30 different beers throughout the festival. There will also be 50 different food booths to serve you everything from sausages and brats to other festival favorites. There is even a car show, a military vehicle display, arts and crafts and more.

What says “October” more than visiting a haunted house? One of the most popular local haunts – 13th Door Haunted House – opens early so all spook-lovers have time to check out the detail in each and every room. The 13th Door Haunted House has been rated among the very best in the Northwest and one visit will show you just why that is. Check out Portland’s oldest Halloween attraction behind Glowing Greens on Murray Boulevard. The haunt opens September 22 with more and more availability the closer you get to October 31.
