Plan your fall season now in Denver

The leaves are just beginning to change, that clean, crisp smell of Autumn is in the air, and back-to-school sales are nearly everywhere you turn. It can mean only one thing – it’s almost fall! And with the approaching fall season that means it’s also time to start planning loads of fun date nights and family outings to help celebrate the spooky season. Sure, you might think it’s early now, but all of these ideas book well in advance, so show your special someone just how organized you are and get your fall season booked early!

Get Lost (in Corn)

One of the best annual traditions is, of course, getting lost in a giant corn maze. And in Colorado, you’ve got several to choose from. One of the best takes place at the Botanic Gardens at Chatfield (not to be confused with the York Street location – there is no corn maze there.) The maze is a whopping seven acres and can be viewed from two 15-foot-tall illuminated bridges. If you’ve got younger kiddos with you, you can also check out the smaller corn mini-maze for fans under the age of 10. Or try your hand at the big maze, grab a map online and plan some time to get lost with the whole family.

Parade Around Town

This one is a newer offering to the Halloween season, but we’re glad to see it back! The second annual Broadway Halloween Parade is offered by the Broadway Merchants Association and will travel down Broadway from 5th Avenue to Alameda. You can register to be a part of it, if you’ve got a group or float, band or other idea for an entry or just plan to show up with the family because everyone loves a parade. Costumes for the parade are encouraged and (if you wear a costume) you might even be asked to join in on the Halloween fun at the end of the parade. This shorter parade route is perfect for the family and you’re sure to get in the full Halloween spirit with this one.

It’s a Spooktacular

Here’s a fun offering from the Colorado Symphony Orchestra – the Halloween Spooktacular. This great concert will feature music from the Harry Potter films and many more seasonal favorites, all played by the brilliant musicians of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Costumes are also encouraged here and the best of the costumes will be invited onto the Boettcher Concert Hall stage to show off their spooky creations for the whole audience. This ghoulishly fun time is perfect for the whole family and is a great way to introduce your kiddos to the magic of live orchestral music. Grab your tickets early online, as it’s sure to be a sold-out event.
