Detective Marcus Dougherty started with the Dinner Detective force after a short but eventful career with the Texas Rangers. After shutting down 75 prostitution rings, cutting off the supply line of 14 major cartel runners through Texas, and an astonishing 2,439 arrests, Detective Dougherty decided to throw in his hat with the great force here in Colorado. His past experiences have given him a wealth of knowledge in hand-to-hand combat, handguns, automatic weapons, explosives, rapier combat, broadsword combat, mixed martial arts, Kendo, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Tai-Chi, Chai Tea, California Spring Rolls, and Indonesian-street-style knife combat. Inspiration for Det. Dougherty comes from the knowledge that every closed case gets him closer to the man that he believes is behind the international crime ring known only as El Grande Vaquero de Misterio. Every day Detective Dougherty thanks the Big Man upstairs that he has been given one more day to hunt down the scum of this world to send them on to the next.

He also enjoys a well made Reuben, a nice glass of single malt scotch, and pickled beets.
